Book Advances

A book advance is a portion of a student's financial aid that is given to them before the semester begins to purchase textbooks and supplies.

If you have more financial aid coming in than will be necessary to cover your tuition costs, you may be eligible for a book advance.

To be eligible for a book advance:

• The amount of financial aid must exceed the balance due
• All required financial aid forms must be returned to the Financial Aid Office
• Students must complete the Educational Loan Agreement (ELA)

Once students are eligible, information regarding how to use the book advance will be sent to their Alverno email.
