Campus Safety & Security
The Department of Campus Safety is here to help students, employees and visitors feel safe, supported and prepared on campus. Officers patrol campus buildings, outdoor areas and the surrounding neighborhood 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Department of Campus Safety
Alverno's Department of Campus Safety is available to:
- Respond to safety or security concerns 24/7
- Provide emergency first aid when needed
- Direct and assist visitors, students, faculty and staff
- Escort individuals to their cars and to other buildings when requested
- Deliver emergency messages
- Enforce regulations pertaining to underage drinking and the use of controlled substances
- Provide programming to encourage positive safety habits
Campus Safety partners with the Milwaukee Police Department and Milwaukee Fire Department to support the safety and well-being of the campus community.
How Campus Safety Supports the Community
Trained staff and campus patrols
Campus Safety Officers conduct interior and exterior patrols on and around the Milwaukee campus. Officers receive initial and ongoing training in campus policies and emergency procedures. Officers are trained in CPR, first aid and AED certification.
Residence Hall Security
Austin and Clare Halls are secured 24 hours a day and require card access. Cameras monitor both residence hall entrances.
Preparation and Prevention
Campus Safety offers orientation presentations and emergency training for students and employees. Emergency notification systems are tested during semester drills and monthly within the Incident Response Team.
Safety Services
Campus Safety provides Campus SafeWalk escorts, responds to safety concerns, assists with building and room lockouts, operates the campus lost and found, and more.
Annual Security, Fire and Safety Report
The annual report contains campus safety policies, reporting information, emergency procedures, crime statistics and more.
