You will complete:
- Field placements
- Supervised practicum experiences
- A culminating portfolio demonstrating readiness for licensure
If you are pursuing initial licensure, you will also complete student teaching. If you are currently working in a school setting under an emergency license, you may be able to complete requirements in your current role. Otherwise, Alverno will help arrange placements.

Requirements:
- Three recommendations (at least two professional or academic)
- Official transcripts confirming a completed bachelor’s degree
- Writing samples (one education statement and two communication samples)
- Passing score on Praxis Core
- Completed background check through Alverno College
