Commencement at Alverno College

Commencement is a special day for graduates and their loved ones. We look forward to welcoming family and friends to celebrate this important milestone.

The information below will help you plan your visit and prepare for the ceremony.

Guest Tickets

All attendees to the ceremony in Pitman Theatre require a ticket. 

Those who do not have a ticket may watch the ceremony on campus via livestream in the Bucyrus Conference Center in the Sister Joel Read Center (RC) where it will be played on large screens.

Those who are unable to attend can also watch the livestream online here.

Arrival and Parking

Free parking is available on campus. College staff will assist visitors upon arrival and direct guests to available parking areas and ceremony locations.

• Accessible and Senior Parking: Lot E near the Pitman Theatre (Morgan Ave & 39th Street)
• Limited General Parking: Lot E
• Additional General Parking: Parking structure located off 43rd Street
• Street Parking: Visitors may park on the street if available according to Milwaukee city regulations. Alverno College cannot waive tickets.

Vehicles must park only in designated spaces. Parking in roadways or traffic lanes may result in a ticket.

Guest Seating

Guest seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise noted.

Doors to Pitman Theatre open one hour before the ceremony begins. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking and seating.

Accessibility

Alverno College is committed to ensuring that commencement is accessible for all guests.

Accessibility services include:

• Special seating accommodations
• English-to-Spanish translation services
• American Sign Language (ASL) translation services
• Disability-related accommodations

Graduating students will have an opportunity to indicate which services are needed for themselves and/or guests when completing their commencement forms.

Photography

Professional photographers will capture graduates during the ceremony. Information about accessing photos will be shared with graduates.

Guests are welcome to take photos from their seats during the ceremony.
