1098-T Tax Forms

What is a 1098-T?

The 1098-T form reports the amount of qualified payments made toward tuition and related fees that Alverno College billed you during the previous calendar year. Alverno reports this information directly to the IRS; therefore, the 1098-T is for your information only and does not need to be attached to your tax return.

When will I receive a 1098-T?

1098-T tax forms will be available starting January 31 in Self Service in the Tax Statements section. If you would like to receive your form as quickly as possible, please opt in on the Self Service portal to receive the form electronically. If you do not opt in or if you no longer have access to the portal, your form will be mailed to you on January 31.

Why didn't I receive a 1098-T?

You may not receive a 1098-T if:

  • You were not a student during the previous year.
  • You do not have a valid SSN or address on file.
  • You did not make payments in the previous year toward qualified tuition expenses.
