Arts Faculty

Andrea Skyberg is an assistant professor and director of the Art Education/Art Therapy program at Alverno College. She is also the assessment coordinator for the Art department. In her role at the college, Skyberg helps to create new arts courses, and teaches courses in studio arts and art education. Skyberg collaborates with faculty across campus on initiatives that drive practices of experiential learning, creative integration and community engagement and activism.

Her goal as an educator is to help students redefine creativity as an ability they innately possess and encourage them to access it throughout their experiences, to help process emotions, express their ideas and communicate with the world around them. In her free time she enjoys making art, writing, singing in her band, gardening, Zumba, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
