Alverno College Will Hold its 154th Commencement on December 16 and 17

Alverno College will hold its 154th commencement this weekend as 148 students walk across the Pitman Theatre stage (39th St. and Morgan Ave.) to receive their undergraduate degrees. The ceremony will be on December 17 at 2 p.m. Forty-eight master's candidates will receive their degrees from Alverno on Friday, December 16, at 7:00 p.m.

Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin with an 11 a.m. liturgy in the Alverno College chapel, followed by a brunch for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Kadijiha Jones, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication; the undergraduate invocation will be given by Pamela Moore, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication; and the student address, “Not What, But Who,” will be given by Megan Blankschien, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Management. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Ruth Christiansen, who will receive a Master of Science degree in Nursing. A champagne reception will follow the graduate commencement ceremony. Blankschien, Jones and Moore are Milwaukee residents, and Christiansen is from Clinton, Wis.
