Accelerate Faculty

Carole Barrowman is an English professor and Director of the Creative Studies in Writing at Alverno College. Barrowman is one of the lead designers of Accelerate and director of its advanced level. As well as numerous academic publications, Barrowman has published nine novels, including the acclaimed middle grade trilogy, Hollow Earth (Simon & Schuster), a YA series, The Orion Chronicles (Head of Zeus), comics for DC Comics, Titan Comics, and a graphic novel, Acursian (Legendary). Barrowman writes regularly for the Minneapolis Star Tribune and is a monthly contributor on The Morning Blend on WTMJ4 (Milwaukee’s NBC affiliate). Barrowman’s areas of expertise are assessment as learning, creative writing, project management for creatives, publishing, and genre fiction.
