School of Business Welcomes Two New Faculty

The Alverno College School of Business is welcoming two new faculty this fall. Nicole Maassen and Richard Tobin will teach undergraduate courses, as well as co-teach a course in the MBA program.

Before joining Alverno, Maassen served as the vice president of litigation and risk management at Assurant Health where she led a team of lawyers, paralegals and support staff. Prior to that, she held positions at O'Neil, Cannon, Hollman, Dejong & Laing S.C. and at Foley and Lardner LLP. Last spring, Maassen was recognized as one of The Business Journal's 2013 “Forty Under 40.” She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin.

Tobin brings more than 15 years of business experience to the College, most recently serving as assistant vice president at Fiserv, Inc. where he oversaw a staff responsible for accounting and financial reporting. Prior to that, he worked for Molson Coors Brewing Company and Deloitte and Touche, LLP. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University (Ohio), and earned his Master of Business Administration from Marquette. Tobin is a certified public accountant, and has participated in international educational programs including the Beijing International MBA Program in China and at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
