Raye David speaks at the Holocaust Remembrance Service
Her father was arrested by the SS in 1941, taken to the Ponary forest, shot and killed. Months later, Raye David and her mother narrowly escaped liquidation of the Vilna Ghetto. She survived starvation, brutality and disease in Kaiserwald, Stuthoff and Kaufering labor camps before she was liberated at the Bergen-Belsen camp at age 17.
