BIOGRAPHY
Paul Smith is an instructor of psychology at Alverno College, where he has taught since 1987. In that time he has also served as chair of the psychology department and as chair of the institutional review board.
Smith has given multiple presentations across the country on topics related to the teaching of psychology and the learning sciences, including critical thinking, academic honesty and modern learning theory.
Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. He earned a master’s degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis on cognitive psychology and statistics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He also earned a master’s degree in Philosophy and a PhD in Urban Education from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. He serves on the advisory council for the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium, and on the board of directors for The Coffee House.
