How to Become a Force For Positive Change

Alverno College will host a seminar on how to become an agent of positive change on Wednesday, March 7 at 6:00 p.m. Deanna Singh, an accomplished author, educator, business leader, and champion for marginalized communities will lead the seminar entitled The Anatomy of a Social Entrepreneur. Audience members will be given the tools and courage to imagine, activate and impact the world in a positive way.

“My hope is that people who come to my seminar will walk away feeling like they have permission to go out and make a change,” said Singh. “One of my favorite things is when people reach out to me six months, a year or two years later and say, ‘I was sitting in the audience, and I was thinking about doing this thing and I did.' To play a role in someone else's journey, there's really no greater feeling.”

Singh is the founder of Flying Elephants, and has spent nearly 20 years researching and designing solutions to complex social challenges. She was recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal's 40 Under 40, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies at Fordham University, a law degree from Georgetown University, and an MBA from UW- Madison.

The seminar is free and open to the public. For more information or to register, please visit https://www.alverno.edu/center-academic-excellence/cfae-events.php.
