Alverno Forum will explore the challenges that face the LGBTQ community
Alverno College is hosting a forum on the issues and challenges that prohibit full inclusion of the LGBTQ community. LGBTQ people and their allies face discriminatory obstacles every day in terms of healthcare, legal services, family and adoption advocacy, housing and employment, and more. Many are leading a civil rights movements to empower sexual and gender minorities in the United States.
During the forum, local citizens will share their experiences, including threats of violence where they live, work, play and pray. Social justice advocates will address the legal and institutional obstacles to full inclusion, and representatives from local agencies will provide resources and share how the community can get involved in creating solutions.

The Alverno Forum series seeks to join community leaders in discussing cutting-edge topics that have a daily impact on the lives of people in our community and beyond.
