Alverno College Will Hold its 148th Commencement on December 20 and 21
Alverno College will hold its 148thcommencement this weekend as 176 students walk across the Pitman Theatre stage (39thSt. and Morgan Ave.) to receive their undergraduate degrees. The ceremony will be on December 21 at 2 p.m. Ninety-two master's candidates will receive their degrees from Alverno on Friday, December 20, at 7:00 p.m.
Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin with an 11 a.m. liturgy in the Alverno College chapel, followed by a brunch for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Amber Lorge, who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing; the undergraduate invocation will be given by Yen Chu, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Community Leadership; and the student address, “Dreams Do Not Have an Expiration Date” will be given by Pamela Wright, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Management & Technology. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Simmone Stovall, who will receive a Master of Science in Community Psychology degree. A champagne reception will follow the graduate commencementceremony. Chu, Wright and Stovall are Milwaukee residents, and Lorge is from Brookfield.
