Alverno College Will Hold Its 164th Commencement on December 18

Alverno College will hold its 164th commencement on December 18 as 124 bachelor’s and associate students, 117 master’s candidates and eight doctoral candidates walk across the Pitman Theatre stage to receive their degrees. The graduate ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. and the undergraduate ceremony will take place at 2 p.m.

This commencement will include the first graduates of Alverno’s Master of Music Therapy and Doctor of Education programs.

Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin on Friday, December 17 with a Baccalaureate Mass at 4 p.m. in the Alverno College chapel, followed by a reception for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Courtney Hackstein, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Arts in Practice and English. The undergraduate invocation will be given by Meredith Jackson, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Educational Studies. The student address, “The Complimentary Arts of Kindness and Determination,” will be given by Jayna Fischer, who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Business & Management. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Austin Floyd, who will receive a Doctorate in Education, and the graduate Benediction will be given by Clarissa Lawrence, who will receive a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Fischer lives in Jackson, Wis., Floyd is from Sumpter, S. Car., Hackstein lives in Greendale, Jackson is from Oak Creek, and Lawrence is a Milwaukee resident.
