Alverno College Will Hold Its 160th Commencement on December 14
Alverno College will hold its 160th commencement on December 14 as 139 bachelor's and associate students, 76 master's candidates and three doctoral candidates walk across the Pitman Theatre stage to receive their degrees. The graduate ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. The undergraduate ceremony will take place at 2:00 p.m., and will also be followed by a reception.
Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin on Friday, December 13 with a Baccalaureate Mass at 4:00 p.m. in the Alverno College chapel, followed by a reception for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Leticia Escobar, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Adult Education. The undergraduate invocation will be given by Feige Bates, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Elective Studies. The student address, “The Recipe I Discovered at Alverno,” will be given by Brianna Walker, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Jennifer Phipps, who will receive a Master of Business Administration. Escobar and Bates are Milwaukee residents, Walker is from Tomah, Wis., and Phipps lives in McFarland, Wis.
