Alverno College has named alumna Ruth Lopez as director of admissions. She brings nearly 10 years of experience in admissions, student advising and strategic planning back to her new role at her alma mater.

As director, Lopez will lead student recruitment efforts and implement enrollment strategies for all incoming student populations.

Lopez most recently she served as the supervisor of diversity, equity and inclusion at Milwaukee Recreation, where she led initiatives to align policy with inclusive practices and organizational compliance. She previously worked as a college and career advisor for Milwaukee Public Schools and as director of admissions and enrollment at St. Joan Antida High School

"As an alumna, I know firsthand how transformational Alverno can be,” Lopez said. “Not just through its academics, but through the community we have, that gives opportunity for people to grow in so many ways. I am so excited to be back and help connect future students to this space."

Lopez earned a Bachelor of Arts in Community Leadership and Development from Alverno and a Master of Legal Studies in human resources from Northeastern University in Boston.
