Library Study Rooms

Study Room General Information

The library has 4 study rooms available for students on both a reservation and a walk-in basis. These rooms are located outside the library in FO-236, -238, -240, and -243.

Each room is equipped with a TV and an HDMI cord so that students can connect their own devices as well as a whiteboard.

  • Study rooms are only available for students of Alverno College.
  • Reservations must be made at least one hour in advance as a courtesy to walk-in users.
  • Each reservation can be made for a maximum of two hours and each student is limited to one reservation per day.
  • Excess reservations will be canceled by a librarian and repeated violations of our study room policies may result in students losing access to our reservation system.
  • The system will not allow any reservations to be made with sooner notice or for a longer period of time. If you aren't seeing any available rooms during the time you've selected, make sure your request follows our policies.
  • The rooms are first-come, first-served when there are no reservations, but it is each student's responsibility to check EMS and make sure the room is not reserved before entering and at least once each hour they are in a study room.
  • Walk-ins will be asked to leave if a group with a valid reservation comes in.
  1. Log in to the EMSWebApp with your Alverno ID and password
  2. Click Create a Reservation in the sidebar on the left
  3. Find Library Student Study Room in the list (you may have to scroll down) and click Book Now
  4. Select the date and time you would like to make a reservation and click search
  5. To book a room, click the green plus sign next to the room number (it will turn into a red minus sign) then click Next Step in the upper right corner
  6. Fill in your event name and contact information, then click Create Reservation in the bottom right corner to confirm your reservation

  1. Log in to the EMSWebApp with your Alverno ID and password
  2. Select Locations in the sidebar on the left, then Add/Remove Location to select Founder's Hall
  3. Click Add Filter to filter results by Room Type, then choose the Student Study Group Rooms filter from the Room Type list
  4. All four library study rooms will appear at the bottom of the page with any reservations for the day appearing as "Private" events
