Baccalaureate Mass & Blessing of the Graduates
Baccalaureate Mass and Blessing of the Graduates
Join the faculty, staff and School Sisters of St. Francis as we celebrate our graduating seniors and lift up our thanks for their success. We welcome graduating students of all faith traditions while also honoring Alverno’s Catholic Franciscan heritage with this beautiful and celebratory Mass in the chapel. With gratitude for what has been and with hope for what will come, each graduating senior will be hooded in her academic regalia during this special Mass. In addition, the School Sisters of St. Francis, Alverno’s founding community of women religious, will share a special blessing with these soon to be alumnae.
We will process together from the rehearsal in Pitman theatre to the Chapel, and each graduate should be sure to bring her robe for the hooding ceremony. From Baccalaureate, we will collectively transition to the Graduating Seniors’ Dinner in the Conference Center.
Graduates are encouraged to consider volunteering to serve as a participant in the Mass (e.g., readers, acolytes, liturgical or praise dancers, gift bearers). Participants do not need to be Catholic for most of these roles. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to fill one or more of these roles.
