Statement and goals for justice, inclusion and compassion

We in Student Development and Success are agents of change committed to addressing inequalities and injustices on campus and in our community. We acknowledge, advocate, and educate the Alverno Community on issues of social justice. Our work will foster a community of servant leadership.

In an academic year, we aim to remove and/or reduce barriers and challenges to student success on campus by:

  • Creating a professional environment/experience in which we continuously develop our knowledge of and perspective towards justice and equity regarding the many identities that exist within our student body
  • Educating our community on the College perspective on justice and compassion through SDS run programs and events
  • Bringing an understanding of servant leadership and its connection to justice to the Alverno community
