LACCS 2019-2020 Schedule and Information
Sessions combine guest speakers, workshops, best practices and experiences with ongoing
reflection (both individual and with the whole group). There will also be dedicated
time and coaching for your school to develop or refine a character education plan.

Jan. 9, 4:30 - 7:30 pm - Service Learning - Going beyond civic projects, Mary Gentile
Feb. 6, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm - Restorative Practices, Andrew deLutio
Mar. 5, 4:30 - 7:30 pm - Character Education Planning
Apr. 2, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm - Culturally Responsive Schools, Sharroky Hollie

June 17, 8 am - 4 pm Character Education Conference - (included at no charge for all LACCS participants)
On-site consultations will be conducted by the LACCS Leaders. Consultations to occur
1-2 times during school year. Possible visit months are: January, February, and March

School leaders and teams of 2-6 members are encouraged to apply. Teams must include
a school leader (superintendent, principal, assistant principal or deal).

Guest speakers are chosen based on feedback from participants and projected needs
of each learning community. Session have ncluded national speakers on leadership, moral and performance character development, relationships, restorative practices, mindfulness, trauma-informed practices, service learning, culturally responsive practices, and other social emotional learning topics.
