What is a study group?
Instructional Services sets up study groups to help students with difficult material in their classes. The study groups are created in cooperation with course faculty, who make the request. Study groups are run by Study Group Monitors, tutors who work closely with a course instructor to reinforce the current curriculum in a particular class.
How do I find out if there’s a study group for my class(es)?
If your class already has a study group, your study group monitor or instructor will list it on your class’s Moodle page.
How do I attend an existing study group?
Your Study Group Monitor will post their scheduled sessions via email through Moodle. The Study Group Monitor needs your input to schedule when the sessions will occur. Please respond to emails from the Study Group Monitor to assist in setting up the schedule that best fits everyone's availability. If your class section doesn't have a Study Group session, look on the Study Group list below to see if another section does at a time that fits your schedule. Then, just show up!
What if I need a study group for a class, but there isn’t one listed?
If you would like a study group for your class, please ask your instructor the steps to begin a study group. Keep in mind that study groups work best when several students are struggling with the course content and/or skills.
