Returning Students Intro
Not all students complete college in one four-year period. There are many reasons students take a break from their studies -- whether that turns out to be a semester or many years. If you've left Alverno, but are now ready to return, please find your situation below and follow the steps to reinstatement.
For Undergraduate Students on Leave
Undergraduate students interested in returning to Alverno from a Student-on-Leave need to:
- Schedule an appointment with your Academic or Promise Scholar Advisor or contact your Faculty Advisor to discuss your return
- Clear all current holds. Holds are viewable via the "Student Information" link in IOL.
- Update your name and contact information (if applicable) via IOL.
- If working with a Faculty Advisor, contact the Advising Office to have your leave status updated
- As needed, follow-up with your Advisor to identify course options and get help with registration
For Graduate Students on Leave
Graduate students interested in returning to Alverno from a Student-on-Leave need to:
- Contact your Faculty Advisor or Program Director to discuss your return and identify possible course options
- Clear all current holds. Holds are viewable via the "Student Information" link in IOL.
- Update your name and contact information (if applicable) via IOL.
- Contact the Advising Office to have your leave status updated
- As needed, follow up with your Faculty Advisor or the Registrar’s Office (414-382-6370) to confirm registration plans and to register for courses
For Undergraduate Students Returning From an Official Withdrawal
Undergraduate students interested in re-enrolling at Alverno after being officially withdrawn will need to:
- Complete the Undergraduate Readmit Application or call the Readmit Coordinator, Karen Romantini, in the Advising Office at 414-382-6030 to request information
- Complete a FAFSA here (Free Application for Student Aid)
- Contact the Financial Aid and Student Accounts Office at 414-382-6262 for assistance with finances
Once your Readmit Application has been received:
- The Readmit Coordinator will contact you regarding steps needed to move forward
- Clear all holds on your account (The Advising Office will notify you of any holds)
- Your Academic Advisor will assist you with the registration process
For Graduate Students Returning From an Official Withdrawal
Graduate students interested in returning to Alverno after being officially withdrawn need to contact the Admissions Office at 414-382-6100.
