Alverno College Year in Review, 2025
As 2025 draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back on a year defined by growth, connection and community. We welcomed new colleagues into key leadership roles, each bringing fresh energy and vision to our work. We also felt the tremendous support of our community — support that enabled us to continue our long-standing commitment to serving others in meaningful ways.
Here are some of the moments that shaped 2025:
Alverno welcomed Mariana Sanabria as Vice President of Enrollment Services. She now leads the college’s strategic enrollment initiatives, bringing vision and direction to all areas of enrollment management and financial aid. Read more.
Elizabeth Moore was named Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance and Administration. As a key advisor to institutional leadership, she will help guide the College toward long-term financial stability and sustainable growth. Read more.
Alverno appointed Antonio Rivas as Director of Athletics. Rivas brings eight years of collegiate athletics experience to the role, most recently serving as assistant director of Athletics for Compliance and Academic Success at Dominican University in Chicago. Read more.
Ruth Lopez returned to her alma mater as Director of Admissions. She now leads student recruitment and oversees enrollment strategies across all incoming student populations. Read more.
For the third consecutive year, Alverno partnered with Telemundo Wisconsin to distribute free backpacks filled with school supplies to local children. Read more.
Alverno welcomed Gina M. Rossetti, PhD, as Vice President for Academic Affairs. She is leading efforts to strengthen the curriculum, advance inclusive academic practices, and promote excellence across all programs. Read more.
For the 15th consecutive year, Alverno was recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its strong commitment to teaching — the only Wisconsin school honored every year since the category began. Read more.
Alverno College will join the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) in the 2026-2027 academic year, becoming the conference’s eighth core member. Read more.
Alverno College received a $1.1 million legacy gift from Gwen and Rudy Godinez, whose lives were profoundly shaped by the college’s Telesis program, an innovative adult education initiative offering non-degree courses in health, wellness and personal growth. Read more.
