AMPLECTOR by Aperi Animam and Mars Smith
Join the tenors and basses of APERI ANIMAM this Valentine’s Day weekend as they welcome back the international superstar duo Mars Smith for an evocative program exploring themes of love and embrace.
Recording artist and Grammy-nominated flautist Daniela Mars and Grammy Award winner and founder of VOCES8 Paul Smith bring their signature artistry and original compositions to this exciting collaboration.
This program will also feature music by Franz Biebl, John Dunstable and others. Under the direction of Dr. Paul Thompson, the professional vocal early music ensemble APERI ANIMAM has quickly drawn the attention of early music enthusiasts and organizations across the United States. From its founding in 2017 by performer-scholar Daniel Koplitz (dir. 2017–21), APERI ANIMAM has been praised for its ensemble precision, full-throated vocals, emotional expressivity and innovative programming.
