Regional High School Students and Teachers Exhibit

Opening reception
The opening reception will take place on Saturday, November 9th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. with announcement of the Scholarship Awards at 1:15 p.m.

This exhibition provides opportunities to students to win either a cash award or a scholarship to attend Alverno. Faculty will judge artworks based on craft, confident use of materials, originality, overall composition, and strength of the concept.

Cash Awards
Four participating artists will be selected to receive the Outstanding Emerging High School Artist cash award. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st place $100, 2nd place $75, 3rd place $50, and 4th place $25.

Scholarship Awards
Four participating artists will be selected to receive the Outstanding Emerging High School Artist scholarship awards in the amount of $1000. This award will be offered to the selected student who enrolls as an art major at Alverno college in the next two years.

Art Workshops
Free and open to the public.
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Clay Jewels
Create colorful body adornments with polymer clays including earrings, pins, and necklaces. The artworks will be quickly baked, and you will be able to take your lovely designs home.

Paper Making
Create a sheet of marbled paper using Japanese Suminagashi and European style marbling in our fiber and printmaking studio.

Open Art Studio
Work with some of our Alverno Art students in the art studio and experiment with a variety of mediums. Students will be there to guide you and answer any questions.
