Measurement & Evaluation Certificate
What gets measured gets done.
Organizations know that it is important to track the need for change and track the effect of change. However, most people have little training in the skills that make measurement reliable and valid, and therefore may be making expensive decisions based on faulty data.
Alverno’s Certificate in Measurement and Evaluation is designed for working adults in business, healthcare, or education who need to accurately measure such things as client or employee attitudes, learning, or behaviors. Students will learn theoretical and practical considerations for developing valid measurement and evaluation plans, practice with specific techniques including surveys, interviews, and experiments, and practice communicating what can be reliably inferred from good measurement. You’ll learn to build your own measurement tools as well as evaluate consultant-provided tools. You’ll learn how to avoid common errors that can lead to costly mistakes.
The Certificate is perfect for those working in market research, user experience design, customer satisfaction, employee relations, program evaluation, grant writing or compliance.
We’ll help you answer the questions, “How do I know that the product, program, or policy I have implemented is having the desired effect?” and “How can I demonstrate to others that our product, program or policy has the desired effect?”.
It’s easy to say that you’re “evidence-based,” but it’s worth this extra effort to produce evidence that gives you a solid basis for your decisions and actions.
