Upskill quickly and meet market demands with an Advance Your Skills Digital Badge! Taught by industry professionals, the program is designed to get you ready to take on your next challenge and provide a digital badge as visible evidence of your demonstrated competency.
How it works
- This badge unit is fully online, and is designed to be completed in one month.
- The unit is 4 weeks in length.
- Classes meet once a week for 2 hours live on Zoom.
- There is asynchronous work (reading, videos, and projects).
- Those who successfully complete the unit will earn a digital badge.

Earners of this badge have learned how different functional teams impact each other across an organization. Earners are able to: identify and break down silos among teams using process improvement, build long-term constructive working relationships across teams, align goals and strengthen team cohesion and develop effective communication strategies to achieve transparency.

Earners of this badge have demonstrated understanding of effectively developing and leading operations. Earners are able to understand different leadership styles and how to lead from any position, self-awareness and emotional intelligence, and how to foster growth mindset to achieve operational success.
Earn the Operations badges in just four weeks each by selecting the individual unit option. Or, earn a professional certificate in Managing Operations to Advance Organizations by completing the entire six-month pathway.

Data Badge 1: Using Data for Decision Making

Earners of this badge have learned how data is used to drive decisions in organizations. Earners are able to analyze data to see patterns that are used in decision-making, and can identify and gather specific business data and statistical information. Earners are able to: analyze data used in prescriptive or predictive decision-making, understand data in relation to business planning and operations, and gather data and statistical information to make decisions.
Data Badge 2: Storytelling with Data

Earners of this badge have demonstrated understanding of data mining and how it is used to solve business problems. Earners are able to explore differences between Business Analytics, Data Analytics, and Business Intelligence, and are able to effectively relay a “story” from data by developing different visualization strategies and using various tools.
What is Advance Your Skills?
Developed and taught by Alverno faculty and industry professionals, the Advance Your Skills Pathways program provides the opportunity for individuals and groups to acquire technical knowledge and invaluable interpersonal skills. Our flexible learning pathways provide instruction in skills that are relevant in today’s job market and are in high demand by employers.
Professionals can enroll in the entire pathway or individual units, based on career interest. Professionals who complete the entire pathway will earn a professional certificate.
