Alverno College Welcomes New Vice President for Academic Affairs

Gina M. Rossetti, PhD has been named vice president for academic affairs at Alverno College. In this role, Rossetti will provide leadership to foster academic excellence and innovation, advance inclusive practices, and strengthen the college’s curriculum. She began Sept. 2.

“Dr. Rossetti brings a deep commitment to women’s education, the Catholic intellectual tradition, and the liberal arts – values that are at the heart of our Alverno mission,” said Christy L. Brown, president of Alverno College. “Her career reflects a passion for academic excellence and a dedication to preparing students for meaningful lives of leadership and service.”

Rossetti has more than 20 years of academic leadership experience. Most recently, she served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan. Before that, she held several academic and leadership roles at St. Xavier University, including interim dean, department chair, Faculty Senate vice president and accreditation co-leader. She also led initiatives in strategic planning, student success, first-year experience and general education.

“I am delighted to join the Alverno College community that offers a rich tradition in academic innovation, grounded in the Catholic, Franciscan, and liberal arts traditions, and committed to inclusive excellence,” said Rossetti. “I am really excited about our future together.”

Rossetti earned a bachelor’s degree in English, summa cum laude, from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts; a master’s degree in English from Northeastern University in Boston; and a doctorate in English from the University of Tennessee.
