PRESIDENT's welcome

Sister Andrea Lee

Hello, and welcome to Alverno!

It is a joy to serve our wonderful students as Alverno College’s president. For 133 years, we have been educating and empowering women with our innovative curriculum, offered by faculty who absolutely excel in their fields and truly care about their students and about excellent teaching and support.

Alverno is a small, progressive and inclusive college rooted in our Catholic, Franciscan and liberal arts heritage. We enthusiastically welcome women from diverse backgrounds and traditions in our weekday undergraduate programs and, through our expanded mission, by offering a range of graduate and adult programs to women and men. We prepare students for meaningful careers and for full and satisfying lives.

Everywhere at Alverno, you’ll encounter faculty and staff centered completely on students and their success. Students are happy, engaged and focused on success. Mission drives everything here, and students are the central focus of our mission of developing student potential through inspired teaching and learning.

Discover all that Alverno has to offer and visit our beautiful campus in Milwaukee! Picture yourself in class with capable, energetic students like yourself, leading a student organization, competing in athletics, performing in choir or on stage, and living and learning among diverse, talented friends. Then, imagine yourself an Alverno College graduate -- leading, shaping and contributing to the good and just world we all seek.

I look forward to meeting you. Please stop by when you are on campus.
