Many Doors In, Many Paths Through

NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE and where you want to go, Alverno can get you there.

That’s the guiding principle behind Alverno’s School of Adult Learning and New Initiatives, which, in its four years of existence, has launched a diverse array of learning opportunities and credentials for professionals at all stages of their careers.

There are digital badges and professional certificates signifying that the recipient has sought continuing education and mastered concrete, industry-driven skills. There are associate’s degree and bachelor’s degree completion programs, not to mention an accelerated bachelor’s degree for those with some or no college credits. There are unique master’s degrees and a doctorate, allowing you to reach the pinnacle of your profession.

As unique as the programs are, they share key common threads. They’re online and flexible, designed to meet learners where they’re at. They respond to a current and future workforce need in new and imaginative ways. They’re immediately applicable and intimately connected to the real world. Best of all, they’re completely Alverno.

“As professionals, we need the ability to redesign our future as our interests and skills evolve,” says Meghan Walsh MBA ’16, dean of the School of Adult Learning and New Initiatives. “I’ve experienced firsthand how Alverno’s adult programs can be life-changing, and it’s exciting to be part of a team that is building programs to meet the diverse needs of learners here at home in Milwaukee and beyond.”

From Milwaukee to South Carolina to Uganda, the students featured herein are traveling on very different paths. Each path, however, has converged at Alverno. And while the students’ journeys will take them down different roads, they’ll share in the welcoming embrace of the Alverno community and experience the richness of an Alverno education.
