Oxfam Hunger Banquet

During our annual Community Day, Alverno College students took part in anOxfam Hunger banquet. Participants drew random tickets to determine where they would be seated. A small percentage were served a decent meal of pasta, salad and cranberry juice, a larger percentage was served beans, rice and water, and the vast majority received only a small bowl of rice. The exercise demonstrated food inequality around the world, and really opened the eyes of students, faculty and staff participating.
