Being part of Alverno’s fundraising phonathon is more than a job for our student callers — it’s also a great way to connect with their Alverno sisters and ask their advice. Here’s a bit more about three of our callers.
Hayley Aspenson, Sophomore, Nursing
Favorite thing about Alverno: I love the sense of community between Alverno Sisters. I also love the feedback system because I feel like I’m learning and growing to the best of my ability.
Career hopes, dreams, plans: I really want to work with psychiatric patients, particularly children and adolescents. I would love to work in a facility like Rogers Memorial Hospital. After graduation, I’d like to have a stable career in a hospital for a few years before I come back for a graduate program with a focus on mental health nursing!
Favorite part of being a caller: I really love getting to know alumnae and getting some amazing advice for pursuing my degree and coming back for a graduate program! My favorite call memory is being able to have a really in-depth conversation with a nursing alumna who gave me valuable advice as I move forward in pursuing my degree!
Ashely Carlos, Senior, Art Therapy
Favorite thing about Alverno: My favorite thing about Alverno is the professors — they are helpful and understanding.
Career hopes, dreams, plans: In the future I want to get my master’s in art therapy. Then I hope to become a pediatric oncology art therapist.
Favorite part of being a caller: My favorite thing about being a caller is that I get to speak with a lot of different alums!
Tavia Hunt, Junior, English with minors in Communication and Psychology
Favorite thing about Alverno: My favorite thing about Alverno is the small campus and class sizes. It makes everything personal and intimate.
Career hopes, dreams, plans: I plan on becoming a published author. So watch out!
Favorite part of being a caller: My favorite thing about being a caller is connecting with alumnae and finding out about their experiences. I would like to call for 8–10 hours in a day if I could.
If your phone rings from “Alverno College,” please pick up. Students really want to talk with you. And if you’d like to make a donation to the Alverno Fund, they would appreciate that, too!
