A Wellness Message from the President
The phrase in Sanctitate et Doctrina – in holiness and learning – is incorporated into the Alverno College seal and represents the College’s commitment to the total person in wholeness and health. Here at Alverno College, we strive to be a campus that supports and promotes wellness because it builds a happier, more productive and satisfied campus community.
Wellness Tip of the Week
Running late to your exercise class, what should you do?
Arriving late to a fitness class is not the way to start your workout. The beginning of class is when most instructors introduce themselves give instructions on safety.
“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is.”
What miracles have you experienced today? Was it the sun shining so brilliantly that it took your breath away? Was it seeing the perfectly formed fingers and toes of a newborn baby? Was it knowing that the purring cat sitting on your lap was somehow clearing away all the cobwebs of a day spent in utter and complete stress? Was it rushing to leave work and then halting suddenly, completely in awe at the sight of a full moon? Was it changing lanes on the freeway, nearly missing the car in the next lane you were absolutely sure was not there? They are everywhere – those miracles – if we just pause to remember them. – Connie Popp, Campus Minister
