LACCS 2018-2019 Schedule and Information

Program Leaders:

Margaret Tackes, Ed.D.; Nancy Athanasiou, Ed.D.; Julie Borgealt, MS; Amy Karsten, M.Ed.

Sessions combine guest speakers, workshops, best practices and experiences with ongoing reflection (both individual and with the whole group). There will also be dedicated time and coaching for your school to develop or refine a strategic character education plan.

2018 LACCS Session dates and tentative topics:

Sept. 13 - Orientation - What does character education look like?
Sept. 27 - 11 principles of character education training
Nov. 1 - State School of Character Panel
Nov. 29 - Site visit to State Schools of Character
January (Date TBD) - Service Learning
Feb. 7 - Guest Speaker TBD
Mar 14 - Guest Speaker TBD
Apr. 11 - Guest Speaker TBD
May 9 - Graduation

On-site consultations will be conducted by the LACCS Leaders. Consultations to occur 1-2 times during school year. Possible visit months are: January, February, and March 2019.

Additional Program Opportunity:

June 2019 Character Education Conference - (included at no charge for all LACCS participants)

Graduation: May 09, 2019

Enrollment is limited and by application only.
