  1. Complete and submit application

Follow this link to take the first important step to your career success. Take your time completing the application; remember you can start, save what you’ve completed, and finish the remaining portions at another time. Alverno adheres to a rolling application process, so there isn’t an application deadline, but it is in your best interest to submit materials as soon as possible to remain eligible for academic scholarships and other financial assistance.

  2. Submit ACT Score and HS Transcript

When taking the ACT, include Alverno among the list of colleges receiving your score. If you’ve already taken the test and did not include Alverno, contact ACT (www.actstudent.org) for details on how to send your scores. We’ll also need a copy of your official transcripts, which MUST come directly from your high school in a sealed envelope to be considered ‘official’. Check with your guidance counselor on how to submit, or use this form.

  3. Complete FAFSA

Our recommendation, when applying for federal financial aid, is to submit your application as soon as possible, ideally between January 1 and March 31 of the year in which you’re enrolling. For instance, if you’re planning to enroll in the 2014-15 academic year, submit FAFSA materials by March 31, 2014. Our financial aid office is always here to help you, so if you have ANY questions, feel free to call 414-382-6046 for a phone or in-person appointment.

  4. Register and complete CPA

Alverno is proud to provide a learning environment that challenges you without overwhelming you. Providing this type of customized learning should always start with identifying your level of ability, which occurs with the Communication Placement Assessment. We want you to be successful throughout your time at Alverno, so the CPA focuses on reading, writing and math, helping us to determine those classes that are the best fit for you. Here are sample CPA assessments and a link to register.

  5. Apply for housing, if applicable

Residing on campus isn’t required, but it is a great way to enjoy convenient access to classes, a full calendar of activities, and a supportive community of fellow students and staff. Learn more about living on campus, or complete an online application.

  6. Provide enrollment deposit

New students should plan on submitting a $100 confirmation deposit to hold your spot for the upcoming semester. The deposit will be applied to your total enrollment.

  7. Register for classes!

New student registration events are held every Wednesday – afternoon and evening appointments are available – from May through July. Here, you’ll meet face-to-face with your advisor who will work with you to determine your class schedule, and explain details about your first day of class. You’ll walk away feeling at-ease about this next exciting step in your academic journey.

I even changed my major once, so it’s still possible to finish in four years even if you change your path. You’ll be busy—but you can do it!”
