Once mastery of skills has been accomplished through student preparation, instruction, and active practice, students are required to demonstrate their mastery of selected nursing skills as per course requirements. Students are encourage to access the CLC for early and frequent practice of skills. Once prepared students will self-schedule an appointment for the demonstration of competence.
Within the Clinical Learning Center (CLC) are five clinical exam rooms designed and equipped for the performance of physical assessments of patients in a private and secure environment. Clinical exam rooms are equipped with audio/visual recording of student performance for faculty and student assessment and feedback. Located within the CLC is one Home Care Studio simulation environment. This environment is intended to simulate a home care environment for students to practice the unique skills in caring for patients in a community setting. This environment is also equipped with audio/visual recording capabilities for faculty and student assessment and feedback.
