The Peace Corps is a great organization for anyone interested in working directly with citizens in more than 95-less developed
countries and offers great financial assistance.

Health Insurance
HTH Worldwide is designed to provide Health Insurance to Students Studying Abroad only for the length of stay in the host
country. The International & Intercultural Center staff will gladly assist you in enrolling in HTH health insurance.
Emergencies
The U.S. Department of State is constantly updating their list of countries receiving Travel Alerts and Warnings. It is recommended to check out these lists when considering travel abroad.
The U.S. Department of State also provides resources for Emergency Situations when a
student has: lost their passport, been arrested, victimized in a crime, has suffered through a natural disaster and others.
The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a requirement for Alverno students studying abroad. When you register with the U.S.
Department of State’s STEP Program, you are allowing your whereabouts to be known so you can be contacted in the case of an emergency.
