Associate Professor Dawn Balistreri, MA, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. A member of Phi Beta Kappa, Dawn’s areas of interest include visual communication, digital publishing, and the impact that fine arts has on nursing students.
Associate Professor Jean Groshek, MA, earned her master’s degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Jean has an interest in examining the role that mindfulness awareness plays during interactions with others. At Alverno, she teaches courses that integrate mindfulness into the study of listening, public speaking and team collaboration.
Assistant Professor Lindsey Harness, PhD, earned her doctorate in rhetorical communication & leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Lindsey’s interests focus on how minority populations, particularly LGBTQIA+, use technology as a means of empowerment. Other interests include dogs, tea, reading, nature, astrology, traveling, theatre, all things cozy, and fitness.
Associate Professor Tracy Stockwell, PhD, earned her doctorate in rhetorical communication & leadership from Marquette University. Tracy’s interests include rhetoric, social
justice, feminism, free speech, marginalized voices/stories, music (soul, jazz, blues, funk), futurism, leadership, civil discourse, media literacy, mid-life dancing, travel, laughter, and
the nurturing of fragile human connections.
