Social Activism: What Health Care Professionals Can and Should Do

Alverno College is hosting a forum featuring health care professionals discussing
social activism and its potential impact. Panel members will engage in a discussion
about local needs and strategies to address them, as well as how their personal experiences
in the health care field led to social change.
The forum will be moderated by Donna Engelmann, Ph.D. and professor of philosophy
at Alverno College. Panelists include:
Ernest Colburn, nurse manager, WHFC St. Joseph's Hospital
Celia Jackson, JD, executive director of the Alverno College International & Intercultural
Center
Ellen Murphy, BSN, JD, FAAAN, professor emerita, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
Kathleen Pritchard, Ph.D., vice president of planning and evaluation, Impact, Inc.
The Alverno Forum series seeks to join community leaders in discussing cutting-edge
topics that have a daily impact on the lives of people in our community and beyond.
The next discussion in this year's series takes place on Thursday, March 22 at 6:00
p.m. in the Sister Joel Read Conference Center. The Alverno Forum series is free and
