Resources for Educators

Students aren’t the only ones who study here.

At Alverno, we continually work to be an invaluable source for educators and researchers throughout the world.

Every year, through our Assessment and Outreach Center (AOC), hundreds of educators representing more than 140 institutions in the United States and abroad have come to our campus to attend workshops and institutes to learn about our ability-based curriculum and performance assessment methods, as well as to gain insight from our research on a variety of issues pertaining to women and education.

In the past decade, educators have visited from Afghanistan, American Samoa, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, England, Estonia, Finland, Guam, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Korea, Maldives, Mexico, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam and 40 of the 50 United States.

The AOC offers assessment workshops, publications and consultation services. The department also facilitates workshops for the Southeastern Wisconsin Assessment Collaborative and the Leadership Advancing Character & Culture in School.

Research Center for Women and Girls

Our Research Center for Women and Girls ("Research Center"), building upon the exceptional work of the Research Center on Women and the Research Center on Women Interest Group, generates and applies research for the purpose of inspiring, transforming and supporting initiatives to improve the lives of women and girls in the state of Wisconsin and beyond.
