This workshop will profile over 20 different essential oils and essential oil blends that can assist with a variety of women’s health issues while increasing mind, body and spiritual wellness. We will discuss various causes of PMS and how essential oils provide relief. We will also address the transition to Menopause and discuss how using essential oils can alleviate some of the problems which commonly arise. Recipes will be given along with methods of application and a proper dosage guide. This workshop is filled with wonderful information on how to celebrate life’s changes—not dread them—using the amazing healing properties of essential oils.

Are you challenged by knee pain or an inability to move the way you would like? Painful knees can affect your hips and feet, and stop you in your tracks. This class will help you make a difference in your movement capacity through gentle lessons based on the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education. The movements taught are not just exercises, but actual lessons that will help you reorganize your hip, knee and lower leg for greater leg comfort and power. All lessons can be revisited easily at home.

Standing upright is a uniquely human characteristic, but our posture must be dynamic—able to move in any direction at a moment’s notice. In order to enable your skeleton to realize its potential for action, this class will introduce six movement lessons which address all components necessary for a well-organized posture. This workshop is useful for everyone and may offer particular benefit for those with scoliosis, balance problems, slumping shoulders or low back pain.

The philosophy behind reflexology, as in many complementary therapies, is that illness results from blockages in the flow of essential energy around the body. These blockages can follow illness, stress, injury or disease, causing a state of imbalance in the body. But your body has the ability to heal itself. By stimulating the reflexes on the feet, reflexology helps the body to release these blockages and find its natural equilibrium. This will be a fun and informative hands-on class focusing on the basic principles, techniques and benefits of Reflexology. You will learn the fundamental skills of touching and seeing the hands and feet as mini-maps of the whole body.

Meditation helps us learn to live in the moment; it is a way of practicing stillness and building inner peace. In this class you will be introduced to three meditative practices that will increase your ability to be present for your life, to calm your mind and body so as to achieve deep inner peace and calm, and to reduce overall stress.  We will explore Outdoor Walking Meditation, Meditation in Nature, and Gentle Mindful Movement Meditation: all three are simple yet powerful ways to practice mind/body connection while focusing on movement or sounds in nature.

Instructor: Ian Baker Johnson, MS, CEAP, CWC is a dedicated student for over 25 years in the study of consciousness. She is an integrative mind/body counselor, a certified life and wellness coach, and a mindfulness teacher.

Discover how this ancient Chinese therapy can help with today’s pain problems, including arthritis and fibromyalgia. You’ll learn about the Oriental medical philosophy of healing and diagnostic methods including pulse and tongue reading to assess the body’s condition. We will discuss how this medical system can improve many health problems, and provide acupressure and self-help ideas.

This class offers several tools and exercises to help you unblock and unleash the burning ember of creativity inside. You will learn how to relax your mind in order to open up to your own source of creativity, how to stimulate your imagination and creative spirit through simple writing and drawing exercises, and how to identify your personal inspirations in the world around you.
