You Kick Like A Girl: Self Defense and Self-Empowerment
QI XING DUI DA (SEVEN STAR JOINT PRACTICE)
11 Tuesdays, June 18 – August 27
This class for beginning or continuing students features a martial art form from the Shaolin curriculum, and is an excellent medium for mind and body exercise. Qi Xing Dui Da is a two-person form which will initially be taught as a solo form—first with side A, then side B. Once the form is completed students will work together with one performing side A and the other side B in response to each other. This will reinforce a sense of timing, distance and application of the technique while remaining relaxed and centered.

YOU KICK LIKE A GIRL
Self Defense and Self-Empowerment
Thursday, August 15
The words “strong” and “feminine” are usually on two sides of the same coin. A woman in today’s society can feel she is left to choose one side or the other. This class will explore and create a merging of these two words through self-defense and self-empowerment. No previous martial arts experience is needed; this class will partner aspects such as strong and assertive speech, body language and communication with physical techniques from Americanized Tae Kwon Do and other forms of martial arts. You will understand basic self-defense methods for women of all ages and master tools for keeping yourself safe and assertive while connecting with your inner strength.
