Telesis Classes Summer 2012

TAN TUI (SRING LEG)
11 Tuesdays, June 12 – August 28 (no class July 3)
This class will introduce and teach a series of various choreographed forms of movement taken from a curriculum of over 40 martial art forms gathered from several systems of Wu Shu (martial arts of China). Tan Tui is the first and will be taught in harmony with students’ capabilities and paced according to learning needs. Although the self-defense applications will be noted, the main emphasis will be on health, well-being, energy flow and purposeful direction of intention. Additional forms will be added in a timely fashion.

TAI CHI CHUAN III
11 Tuesdays, June 12 – August 28 (no class July 3)
This class will continue the Tai Chi form of the previous Fall and Winter classes for beginners. The form will be completed and students will have opportunities to refine the external movements while beginning to increase the awareness of the multifaceted internal processes at play.

YOGA MIX
9 Thursdays, June 14 – August 16 (no class July 5)
Yoga Mix is a creative and fun approach to a yoga practice. Asanas will be taught with a sense of flow, strength and motion. The class will use a progressive technique for learning poses at beginning levels and progressing to more challenging positions based on skill. Individual needs of students will be a focus of the class along with building concentration, stress release, muscle toning and stretch. The class is open to students of all fitness levels but experience with Yoga can be helpful.
