WATERCOLOR I
6 Mondays, September 22 – October 27

Lose yourself in the flow of the creative process using only six watercolor pigments: three primary warm colors and three primary cool colors. Using these six pigments you will learn how to create every color imaginable!  Whether you are a beginner or would like to increase your knowledge of the medium you will explore the basics of watercolor painting through demonstrations and hands-on work. The instructor will focus on helping you achieve paintings worthy of display as you learn how to control and maneuver this medium. Gain knowledge and insights with the tips and techniques presented as you paint from your own images or those provided by the instructor.

WATERCOLOR II
6 Mondays, November 3 – December 15 (no class November 24)

Increase your watercolor skills and your ability to handle this exciting medium as you progress to an intermediate/advanced level. Gain additional knowledge of watercolor through the use of a variety of materials and techniques such as layering your washes to create interesting values and contrast. As you learn and understand the essentials of values, color, and composition you will be on your way to painting wonderful realistic-looking images as you paint from your own references or those provided by the instructor. It is strongly recommended that you take Watercolor I prior to this class.

BASIC PORTRAIT DRAWING
6 Thursdays, October 9 – November 13

If you have never drawn more than a smiley face or stick figure, then this class is for you! In this class for beginners, we will learn to render proper facial proportion and learn how to draw features as well as hair. You will get plenty of practice with the help of an experienced portrait artist, and will end with a beautiful final portrait drawing.

THE MEDITATIVE ART OF ZENTANGLE®
Thursday, October 9

Zentangle® is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it! Drawing a Zentangle increases your focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction, and increases your sense of personal well-being. The Zentangle method is enjoyed all over the world across a wide range of skills, interests, and ages. In this introductory workshop, you will learn the basic principles of Zentangle and will be supported in your artistic creations.

ZENTANGLE® INSPIRED ART: LAP DESK
3 Thursdays, October 16 – 30lap desk with Zentangle design

Zentangle® is a relaxing way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It has been shown to increase focus and creativity while providing artistic satisfaction and an increased sense of personal well-being. In this three-session class, the basics of Zentangle will be covered and numerous tangles taught. Each participant will then create a design that will be transferred to a wooden lap-desk. It is suggested but not required to take the introductory Zentangle class.

FELTED BANGLE BRACELETS
Wednesday, October 29

Get your hands wet while making wearable art! Participants will learn the wet-felting technique to turn dyed wool into one-of-a-kind bangle bracelets, using just soap and water. Each person will create two or three felted bracelets that are ready-to-wear and made to last. Leave class with some eye-catching accessories! No previous art experience required.

PAJAKI: POLISH PAPER CHANDELIERS
Wednesday, November 19

Pajaki (Polish for “spiders”) are traditional chandeliers made from colorful paper, string, and straws. Join us for a fun evening of constructing either two miniature Pajaki to hang on your Christmas tree this year, or one larger chandelier to decorate your home (your choice!). Traditional Polish Christmas customs will be discussed while we create these festive decorations. No previous art experience required.
