Jobs on campus
Employment opportunities are available to students willing to work up to 20 hours a week on campus. Federal Work Study (FWS) or regular student employment provides part-time
jobs for undergraduate students allowing them to earn money to help pay educational expenses. The FWS program is based on financial need. We have a variety of jobs on campus in many
departments.
Important announcements to make regarding student employment.
- Returning students with existing Handshake accounts will now apply for positions through the Handshake platform. If you do not yet have an account, go to Handshake to set up an account using your Alverno email address. Once an account is established, you may seek positions by searching Alverno College. For Handshake questions, please reach out to Heidi Anderson-Isaacson.
- New students will start using the Handshake process to search for jobs.
- Priority placement in positions will go to students who have completed their FAFSA or their institutional aid form. Even if you do not qualify for Federal Financial Aid, completing the institutional form can help us help you and any financial situation that might arise for you during the academic year.
- If you are not eligible to work in the United States, reach out to Heidi Anderson-Isaacson for other on-campus opportunities.
- The annual work study allowance has been increased for students who qualify for Federal Work Study, meaning you will be allowed to work more hours on campus.
- Working on campus is a great opportunity to learn more about the college, learn strong transferable skills, attend paid professional development workshops, be connected to a supervisor who can give you a strong reference in the future, and allow you to pick up some hours between classes without the need to use transportation. You can work anywhere from two hours to 20 hours on campus.
