Limited or no technology services on Monday, Feb. 18


On Monday, February 18th, many of Alverno’s technology services will not be available between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. because of a scheduled power outage on campus.

What will NOT be available on Monday, February 18:

  • Moodle
  • DDP
  • IOL
  • Incoming or outgoing campus phone calls
  • Faculty/staff email*

What will be available on Monday, February 18:

  • Student email*
  • The Library web page will have a link directing you to an alternate method of accessing library resources
  • http://www.alverno.edu

*Please note:  Any email you send to faculty or staff on Monday, February 18, will be delayed because the server it is being delivered to will be unavailable.  You may receive a delayed delivery report which will inform you that the message will automatically retry delivery for up to 48 hours and no further action is necessary.  This is normal and expected behavior.   

Power Outage Details:

WE Energies will be working on the electrical feed that runs to Alverno College on February 18th.  All power to the campus will be turned off from 1:00 p.m. to approximately 8:00 p.m.   To prepare for the scheduled power outage on February 18th, all electrical devices on campus will be powered down including servers and networking equipment.

Networking equipment will be powered down on Monday, February 18th beginning at 7:00 a.m.    Plant Operations expects power to be restored around 8:00 p.m.  Technical Services staff will come back in at that time to power on equipment.  We expect networking resources to be functional by approximately 11:00 p.m.
