Tech Services news:
The Moodle transition is complete.
Attention Students. Are you missing some emails? They might be in your Office 365 Clutter folder!
Technology Services is now accepting applications for Lab Assistants in the Computer Center for the Fall 2016 semester. More info here.
Tech Services will be publishing a Tech Security Awareness Topic of the Month in ETC, on the Tech Services website and Facebook page, and in Campus Newsnet during the school year. These topics are selected from free OUCH! security awareness newsletters published by the SANS Securing the Human team (see below for more information about SANS).
The contents of these articles are for informational purposes only. Alverno Technology Services believes that better informed computer users are more secure computer users. OUCH! articles may suggest solutions that differ from established College security practices. Often, this is because computing in a home environment is less secure than computing in an institutional environment like we have on our Alverno network. If you have any questions concerning the information contained in these articles, please contact the Alverno Service Desk.
OUCH! is the world's leading, free security awareness newsletter designed for the common computer user. Published every month and in multiple languages, each edition is carefully researched and developed by the SANS Securing The Human team, SANS instructor subject matter experts and team members of the community. Each issue focuses on and explains a specific topic and actionable steps people can take to protect themselves, their family and their organization. OUCH! is distributed under the Creative Commons BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. You are free to distribute OUCH! within your organization or to your customers as part of your security awareness program, or share OUCH! with your family, friends and coworkers. The only limitation is you cannot modify nor sell OUCH!.
Printing quotas for the Summer 2016 semester have been added. They will expire at noon on 8/22/16.
