Student Health Insurance
Counseling & Health Services strongly recommends that you have adequate health insurance coverage.  If you are currently uninsured, you can find out more about the student health insurance plan, offered by United Healthcare-Student Resources, by picking up a brochure outside of our office, or by going on-line to   www.uhcsr.com.  Go to "College Students" and then find Alverno College on the pull-down menu.

If you will be living on campus, we strongly suggest that you bring your insurance card, or a copy of it, when you move in.  Talk with your parents about how to use your insurance card, any applicable co-pays/fees for services, and how to make an appointment with your doctor.  If you are from outside of the Milwaukee area you should understand which Milwaukee providers are covered by your insurance plan.  There are two hospitals and several urgent care facilities that are either on a bus route or can be reached by taxi.

Note: In case of an life-threatening emergency on campus, call 9-911; then contact Security at x6341
