Counseling
and Health Services
Counseling Services is available to all students.
Students seek individual counseling to help them deal with the challenges
of life, such as adjusting to college, depression and anxiety, time
and stress management, and relationship issues. Appointments are
confidential and free of charge.
Health Services provides a broad range of services
to the campus community including preventative care, illness assessments,
basic lab tests and wellness promotion. All services are confidential.
A nurse is on staff Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge to see the nurse; appointments are preferred. There are two physician clinics per month; appointments are necessary to see the physician. The
cost is $5 and is billed to your student account.
Counseling & Health Services provides programs on a variety of wellness-related topics for individuals, classes, and for the Alverno community. Some examples are: Alcohol Awareness Week, Giving Thanks Week, Love Your Body Week, the Great American Smoke-Out, and Healthy Relationships. Counseling & Health Services maintains many wellness resources and a lending library that are available for check-out.
